Underground utility installation, done the island way.

Directional drilling is our specialty. Around it, we handle the planning, locating and finish work so every line goes in clean.

Core service

Horizontal Directional Drilling

Our drill launches a steerable pilot bore from an entry pit, tracks it underground and surfaces precisely at the exit point. The hole is then reamed to size and the product pipe is pulled back through in one continuous run.

  • Bores under driveways, roads, structures and mature trees
  • Routes through challenging island soils and around rock
  • Single-conduit services and multi-duct bundles
  • Depth and alignment tracked throughout the bore

Power & communications

Electrical & Fiber Conduit

Whether you’re building new, burying an overhead service or bringing fiber to the house, we place conduit to the depth and spec your utility or electrician requires, with pull strings in place for the next trade.

  • New home and accessory-building service runs
  • Overhead-to-underground conversions
  • Power to wells, pump houses, shops and EV chargers
  • Fiber and telecom conduit pathways

Water & wastewater

Water, Sewer & Septic Lines

Water and wastewater lines often need to cross the very things you least want disturbed. We drill beneath drain fields, gardens and hardscape to install pressure pipe that’s continuous from end to end.

  • Domestic water service and well lines
  • Septic and sewer force mains
  • Irrigation mains and shared-water-system lines
  • Entry and exit pits for tie-ins and connections

Before the bore

Locates, Potholing & Site Prep

Safe drilling starts with knowing what’s already underground. We coordinate locates, expose existing lines where the bore path crosses them, and prepare entry and exit pits for a clean setup.

  • Utility locate coordination before every job
  • Potholing to confirm depth of existing utilities
  • Entry and exit pit excavation and backfill
  • Site cleanup and surface restoration
Common questions

Good to know before you call.

How is directional drilling different from trenching?

Trenching digs an open ditch along the whole route. Directional drilling only needs a small pit at each end; the drill steers underground between them, so everything on the surface — lawn, driveway, trees, garden — stays in place.

Can you drill through island rock?

The San Juans are known for rock close to the surface. We assess every route during the site walk and plan the bore path, depth and tooling around the ground conditions we expect to find.

How long does a typical residential bore take?

Many residential bores are completed in a day or two once locates are cleared. Longer runs, multiple conduits or difficult ground can take longer, and we’ll give you a realistic timeline with your quote.

Do you work with my electrician, builder or utility?

Yes. We regularly install the underground pathway and hand off to the electrician, plumber, builder or utility provider who completes the connection, and we’re happy to coordinate directly with them on specs.

Which islands do you serve?

We work across the San Juan Islands, including San Juan, Orcas, Lopez and Shaw. Outer-island projects are welcome — just let us know about access so we can plan transport.

Have a line to run?

Tell us where it starts, where it ends and what’s in the way. We’ll walk the site, plan the bore and give you a clear price.
